Therapeutic Techniques

We pride ourselves on our client-centered approach, utilising evidence-based practices to ensure the highest standard of care. Therapy will be tailored to individual needs to ensure you get the most out of your sessions. Some common approaches our Psychologists use are described below:

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) - A structured, goal-oriented talk therapy that helps people identify and change unproductive cognitive and behavioural patterns; improving how they react to and cope with challenges by focusing on the links between thoughts, feelings, and actions. It is effective for a very wide variety of mental health conditions.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) - A therapeutic approach which focuses on specific strategies to manage intense emotions and cope with stressors, while strengthening aspects of wellbeing such as interpersonal relationships.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - An action-oriented therapy which helps support psychological resilience by accepting difficult thoughts/feelings, developing mindfulness strategies, clarifying personal values and committing to actions which align with those values.

Solution-Focused Therapy -  A goal oriented form of therapy that focuses on assisting clients to identify goals, build on existing strengths and resources, and take practical, achievable steps towards change.

Positive Psychology - Complements traditional approaches to psychotherapy by focusing on evidence-based tools for improving life-satisfaction, and promoting florishing in everyday life.
